Tank Tips/Tricks

You have the power to destroy the entire team with the right tactics. Your first priority should be to incapacitate every survivor. Don't worry about killing them, we can’t stress this enough! Incapacitating ALL survivors will make them lose and give you big points as well. As there is no one who can help them back up. Get it? Good.



Your priorities are as follows when you're a tank:

1. Destroy the Auto-Shotgun users
These guys are the main force for taking you down. The auto-shotgun is the best weapon for dps (damage per second). Taking them down as quickly as possible will allow you to effectively wreck havoc among the other survivors.

2. Don't get Kited
Kited is too be pulled by a survivor. This means you're forced into chasing him, while their teammates fire upon you. You cannot outrun or catch up to a survivor, even when they are running backwards. If they are far ahead of you, use your secondary attack to knock down the survivors from long range. You can hit and stun the survivors, taking out a lot of health along the way.

3. Use your Surroundings
A useful ability of the tank is the fact that you can hit objects into the survivors, instantly bringing them down. This is especially useful on the first map of No Mercy. You can flip the car that causes the alarm into a survivor, which will incapacitate them and also release the horde at the same. Doing so kills two birds with one stone, making you feel accomplished and giving you loads of points.

4. Separate Them
When you hit a survivor, they go flying across the map, which is a good thing. If you can hit them at the right angles, you can separate them and make it easy for your infected friends to strike. Any separation on the survivor side means instant death for the unfortunate ones.

Tank Tips

* When playing the tank, watch out for Molotov’s. They bring your health down rapidly within an allotted time frame depending on the difficulty.
* Do not kill your fellow teammates. If you see a hunter on a survivor, leave him be. Instead go for anyone who might try to shoot the hunter. Many times a player playing the tank will (for some odd reason) go after the survivor the hunter is currently pounced on. Doing this kills your teammate, which is not what you want to do.
* Try and get the survivors in close quarters so that they cant run away from you.
* Try and avoid climbing up ladders or going over obstacles that will slow you down and allow them more time to damage you.
* On the No Mercy finale, you can hit survivors off of the roof and instantly kill them.
* On finales in general, stay out of the range of the mini-gun. It's just a bad idea.

Remember the Control bar!

* If your Controlbar is running out and you can't get a shot in for the survivors, you can attack the infected to get it up again.
